- Can I benefit from working with a Personal Trainer at PTP?
First you'll get to choose which Personal Fitness Trainer you'd like to work with based on what
your personal style is and what you're comfortable with. A good personal trainer will first meet
with you to find out what your fitness and overall health objectives are. Together you and your
personal trainer will create a list of specific goals that you'd like to achieve as a result of
working out. Next, your personal trainer will develop an exercise regimen that he or she will
guide you through in the weeks and months ahead. You will receive proper instruction on how to
use free weights, weight machines, cardiovascular equipment as well as exercise technique.
Your personal trainer will provide you with motivation when you're struggling and challenge when
you've reached a plateau. Most importantly, your personal trainer will give you with one-on-one
consistent support as you move along your path to better fitness and long term good health.
- How does Therapeutic Massage work?
Therapeutic Massage can bring relief to sore muscles, improve flexibility, help with the
recovery of injuries, pain reduction, heighten energy levels and alertness and can help with the
prevention of injuries. There are different types of massage including Deep Tissue Massage
which helps release chronic muscle tension, Pressure Point Therapy where the therapist uses
pressure from their finger, forearm, elbow, knee, and heel to reduce tension, and Swedish
Massage which is comprised of a system of extended strokes using a combination of kneading
and friction with active and passive joint movement.
- Is Pilates right for me?
Pilates is an exercise methodology which was, developed by Joseph Pilates. The goal of the Pilates
method is efficient and graceful movement of the body by balanced development of core strength,
flexibility and awareness. The main benefits of Pilates exercise are increased strength, gracefulness,
ease of movement, balance and leanness. The six main principles of Pilates are Centering, Control,
Flow, Breath, Precision, and Concentration.
- What is Yoga?
Yoga is a word from the Sanskrit language of India which means "union." Yoga is the act of making
specific physical poses with your body. The purpose of Yoga is to help to unite the mind, body and
spirit. Another name for Yoga is Asana. There are different variations of Yoga. Yoga helps with
flexibility, stamina, balance, breathing and strength. Yoga is relaxing and can be done in a
small class setting or alone.
